Congratulations David Fredericks and Hayden Crouch EFofSV 2022-23 Scholarship Recipients
Long time friends, David Fredericks and Hayden Crouch were each awarded $1,000 scholarships sponsored by the Education Foundation of Sierra Vista, Inc. David and Hayden are 2023 graduates of Buena High School.
David's future goals include work in the medical field. This Fall he plans to take the
Emergency Medical Technician Certification course at Cochise College followed by
pursuing a nursing degree at Cochise College or the University of Arizona, ultimately
becoming a Nurse Practitioner. While attending Buena, David completed honors classes,
took classes at Cochise College for dual credit, and was in the top 20% of the 2023
graduating seniors. While also holding down a job, David was very active in his church
where he excelled in Leadership Training, and participated in countless community
service hours. David is the first Dr. Hal Thomas Scholarship recipient sponsored by
the Education Foundation.
Hayden will be attending Northern Arizona University in the Fall where he will major in Exercise Physiology followed on by Physical Therapy school leading to a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Ultimately, Hayden plans to return to Sierra Vista and open a Physical Therapy practice to support the community,
which raised him. While attending Buena, Hayden maintained Principal's Honor Roll
for four years, was active in the Key Club, member of the National Honor Society,
and the Sports Medicine Club where he served as Treasurer for all three organizations.
In 2022-23 he received a Buena Athletic Training Internship and simultaneously
he worked at ApexNetwork Physical Therapy through their Observership program.
The Education Foundation is proud to congratulate these outstanding young men, their parents who supported and encouraged them, and their SVUSD teachers who served as their inspiration and role models. The Foundation also extends it gratitude to members of our community who have donated to the Foundation making these scholarships possible.
